SMPP API
SMPP is a persistent, session-based protocol built for high-volume SMS delivery with predictable throughput, while HTTP APIs are stateless and easier to integrate but less efficient at sustained scale.
SMPP Connection Details
APEX Messaging provides SMPP connectivity for high-throughput A2P messaging via secure, carrier-grade infrastructure.

SMPP Session & Access Details
Bind Types
APEX Messaging supports standard SMPP bind modes:
- TX (Transmitter): Submit messages only
- RX (Receiver): Receive delivery receipts and inbound messages
- TRX (Transceiver): Submit and receive messages over a single session (Recommended)
Authentication
Access is provided using standard SMPP credentials:
- System ID
- Password
Credentials are issued by APEX Messaging and are unique per connection.
IP Whitelisting
For security and network stability, SMPP connections require source IP whitelisting.
Only pre-approved IP addresses will be permitted to connect, and under no circumstances will we allow open IP configurations.
Supported formats include: V4 and V6
Binds & Throughput
- Standard throughput: up to 200 TPS
- Concurrent binds: up to 2 binds (standard allocation)
Additional throughput and/or bind capacity can be accommodated case-by-case based on traffic profile, destination, and routing requirements.
Character Sets
APEX Messaging supports industry-standard SMPP character sets to ensure broad compatibility across global operator networks.
Further technical details, configuration options, and capacity adjustments can be provided on request. Please contact APEX Messaging to discuss specific requirements.
